A superior fine textured selection. We have this grass planted down a portion of our driveway. Brutal weather conditions in the Summer of 2018 and 2019 didn't warrant any extra water for this tough plant. It just kept on performing. Red tints in the flowers and strong yellow autumn foliage add extra interest to this already stunning grass.

Purple Moor Grass is a tussock forming perennial grass that prefers wet sites or at least garden positions that don't dry out with plenty of humus. It is a fine textured pretty grass that turns a muted orange/yellow in Autumn. The flowers appear long and wispy but when seen collectively they give the impression of a purple haze, hence the name Purple Moor Grass. Native to North Africa, Europe and parts of Asia. Named after Chilean naturalist, Juan Ignacio Molinia. Wonderful mass planted. Height 90cm.

Introducing Panicum 'Lama Rossa', translated from the Italian for red blade. After many years of growing this Panicum we have decided to give it a name. Upright to about 1m in height like its parent plant 'Heavy Metal'. The main difference between this and 'Heavy Metal' is in the colour - it has red tips to the blades which age to being a dark burgundy. Then as Summer wanes this Panicum puts on a cloak of autumnal hues - claret, sanguine, maroon and bronze before fading into its Winter wheaton colours. A proven performer.

    Buy 1 for $13.00 / Buy 5 for $55.00

An existing new form of 'Little Bluestem'. All forms of this grass grow exceptionally well in our gravel garden. 'Chameleon' makes a striking upright plant to 60cm in Summer when it is a bright white and green striped grass. As Autumn approaches and night time temperatures fall the tips of the leaves flush with pink. When the graceful burgundy seed heads appear in mid Autumn the plant takes a purple hue. A grass for all seasons. Requires full sun and good drainage.
